Have you tried a different USB cord? I won't be done with work until 10:00 in campbell, but depending on where in San Jose I can help you out tonight.
EDIT: you can use my connector, but my USB cord is routed through my dash.

I have a USB cable. I think the PS3 controller USB cable works. Looks like the same thing. The dongle has lost some of those metal pieces that connect to the ecu, so it doesn't turn on anymore. I live near Eastridge mall on Capitol/Ocala. I can meet you anywhere you'd like.

PM me your number and I'll shoot you a text when I get back to the office, and then I can come out and meet you when you get there. Make sure to bring a USB cord though.

If you want to keep it plugged in you need to move everything up into the lower dash.
Remove the kick panel below the steering wheel, I clip the OBD port, plug in the dongle, and route the USB cord out wherever you want it. Mine comes out at the top right of that panel.
Anyways, glad I could help.

In need of the dongle again. Car just started running funky today. Started up fine, but at some point, check engine light came on while driving and felt like car lost power. Sounds very weird. Maybe spark plugs are no good anymore, but want to check the code out. I don't want to drive the car, I'm afraid it will only get worse. If anyone is near Capitol/Tully that can let me borrow the dongle to pull the codes, I'd really appreciate it. I think it's time for the 90/105k service together

COBB AP V1....Please help...anyone? Can anyone tell me where all the wires go so I can solder them back on?
I accidentally yanked it out egressing the car...COBB offered me $200 credit towards an upgrade but can't replace my cable because they no longer make it. This happened a couple of weeks ago...and yesterday, I'm in limp mode because of a CEL.
