05' STI Cobb Accessport
Does anyone have any good experiences with this unit? I saw on Cobb's website that its release early last december and was really excited about it, i noticed they claim 277.7 whp and 316 wtq which are some damn good numbers if you ask me for just a TBE and Engine Management...if i were to consider this and the UTEC, which would you guys get? And i realize that cobb is coming out with the AccessTUNER and i will get that as well for the tuning capabilities it has so in that sense i cant seem to decide between it and the UTEC...what do you all recommend?
Thanks...
Thanks...
That's problaby about right, I was reading about Vishnu tuning an STI with their software and it only had a TBE and them tune it. It went and ran a 12.7. I don't think getting 30+ hp of a decent ECU tune and a TBE is unreasonable. Going from 2.5 piping to 3, and removing cat's, is good for a bunch. Plus the acces port raises your boost a bit, so 30 whp is probably an easy number to abtain keeping reliablity in mind.

Anybody have anythoughts?
If I were you I'd learn how to drive the car. Learn Shift points, The more stuff you put on the car the less you learn to drive it. Technique can make you faster. If you change stuff around all the time because you aren't going to learn how to shift it correctly. I garuentee if you stick with something for a bit and learn it's characteristics you will be faster. Mods aren't always the answear.

i understand switching things around isnt the right solution but i really need to get rid of the unichip because the maps GP Moto sends me do not work well at all, and obviously a poorly tuned car will perform like crap no matter how good of a driver i am, thats why i figure i need to go to the source of the problem, for example the Engine Management and fix it...
