Built Shortblocks by FW Motorsports.
Here's the deal...no fluff, no bull****...if you buy a rebuilt EJ2x block from anyone else, you paid too much for too little.
Case in point:
Shop A advertises a basic, built block for $3600. Three thousand six hundred dollars.
Let that sink into your head.
What do you get?
Product Features:
Brand X Forged Pistons, pins, and rings
ACL Race Series Bearings
OEM Con Rods
OEM Forged Crankshaft
CNC Machining
Clearanced, Blueprinted, and Assembled.
All, presumably, stuffed into a new engine case.
Now, suppose, you wanted aftermarket forged rods.
How much more would that cost you?
Just over $1000.
For Rods that cost about $400.
Well, we think you'll agree that is just silly and have put together an alternative that is priced right.
This is what you'll get from FW Motorsports:
-Thoroughly cleaned/inspected/qualified engine case.
-All necessary machining/clearancing, and boring with torque plate
-Wiseco Forged Pistons, rings, and pins
-Manley Forged I-beam rods
-OEM Forged & nitrited crankshaft
-ACL Race coated Main & Rod bearings.
-New OEM 11mm oil pump
-New OEM oil pick up
-New OEM oil pan
All this for less than a "basic" built block from another shop.
In other words, you'll pay LESS MONEY and get MORE engine.
"Wow, that's a great deal, but how much money??"
$3200
That's correct...you pay $400 less for a better, higher quality short block.

The price is for the shortblock only. Additional work would naturally cost more money.
Meaning you provide a core block for rebuilding?
Hell yes it is!
I just don't see the point of ripping folks off.
For the record:
The only used part is the block, which is fully inspected & all necessary machining performed to restore it back to OEM specifications.
Crank bore needs line boring? No problem.
Torque plate used during boring process? Yes, as it's industry standard.
Need sleeving for a big build? Again, no problem. FW Motorsports only uses L.A. Sleeves for sleeving services.
Why? Family business that makes their own sleeves here in the USA from better materials.
Some shops will jerk you around with secret squirrel specifications, claim their engines are "balanced & blue printed" but not provide the customer with a build sheet.
If you do not receive a build sheet, you are getting screwed.
Plain and simple.
Here's an example of a build sheet:
CN: If you want to spend more money for less engine, go somewhere else. If you want a higher quality engine for less money, please give us a call.

Nobody should believe that you need a new block to build an engine, or that it's any better than a used block. In fact, a "seasoned" block, one that has been used, has been stressed relieved due to the heating and cooling cycles it's been through. Using seasoned blocks has also proven to make more power than new blocks in many hotrod builds. Besides saving money, you end up with a better engine.

Just to clarify: for the above mentioned project, the entire long block was built/assembled before the customer left Idaho. Absolutely NO corners were cut or shortcuts taken...as with all of our work.
With over 20yrs experience, you know we'll handle your project correctly.

That is a great question.
We hear all kinds or stories from folks that have spent much more at other shops, only to have lousy customer service, or worse, a potential warranty issue.
Our warranty on performance builds depend on the build, the customer, and project.
Performance industry standard is "As Is, NO Warranty".
Why?
Because when an engine is built for a high performance application...race applications...the builder has no control on how the engine will be used/abused.
This situation DOES NOT excuse the builder from providing excellent workmanship.
We stand by our workmanship; if we do something wrong, we fix it.
