Things about this mean machine that subaru DOESNT tell us
Everyone hears about this bad *** STi and the 0-60 times/quarter times, ect and just drool (I know cause I did). So when I first heard about them coming out I immediately started planning on how to get one in my garage. But, I later learned the things about this super machine that changed my mind. In my opinion, Subaru didnt stress the fact enough that this is and nothing but a rally race car and BY NO MEANS an everyday car. A friend of mine bought one, and a few weeks later sold it. It was like riding in a paint mixer...every little bump was fully emphasized because of the tight suspension. Also, the front and back end kinda shake which is odd, and the thing is quiteloud, which you cant really do anything about, like, say, turn up the radio 
ah yes because it doesnt have one! And if you get hot, you can turn on the AC, IF it has one, which it might not! The windows are very thin (a weight thing) so you can hear everything around you. If you are trying to decide between a wrex or an STi, or you are planning on gettin an STi, STICK TO THE WREX!!!! The WRX pretty much IS an STi, its just made comfortable and practical enough for everyday driving. Also, did you know that in Japan, the STis have a 2.0 liter engine? When they came to the US they put them in for the extra low end torque 
i guess it wasnt good enough! Now im not bad mouthing the STi, i just want to make people aware of these kinda things before they make a 30 thousand dollar mistake. Just get a WRX and use that extra 4-8 thousand to make it a beast! (Or should i say more of a beast

Second of all... Some people, me included, love a tight ride with tons of bumps and a loud tranny and engine.
Third... No radio??? Big deal. Put an aftermarket one in.
And by the way... A WRX will never be an STi

I drive my STi on a daily basis and I don't have any trouble nor one complaint! The car is simply awesome!
A few questions for ya...
1. Did you drive one?
2. What do you drive or driven that you can compare the STi to?
3. Your friend sold his due to the ride?
4. Why the senseless post?
I have no regrets in buying the STi. This car is for the enthusiast that appreciates power and performance. Subaru didn't hide anything about the nature of the car. If you want transportation, you can get an awesome deal on a Cavalier!

well guys im sorry i hurt your little feelings, but thats my and alot of other peoples thoughts. i wouldnt have posted it if i didtn know that stuff. and alot of that stuff is what the subaru salesman told me when i looked at them so i guess he doesnt know what hes talking about. i mean damn im sorry if i offended anyone with my own opinion...oh an mr hummer im so glad u said this.

The Subaru dealership told me up front that the STI is not for everyone. They were up front about it's rough ride and rattles. I've lived with mustangs all my life though, so I doubt it would bother me any. I buy a car for performance, not for a plush ride.
I heard a lot of people complain about various aspects of the '03 Cobra, and I was stunned as I thought to myself, "WHat are you talking about? This is the best one yet!" Then I realized that these people were drawn to the car because of the hype. They had never owned a Cobra before, and didn't kow what to expect, or how to compare it.
This is probably true for the author of this thread. He was perhaps drawn to the hype of the STI, but had never owned anything similar in the past. Just a guess though *shrug*
