STI Stage 2 Vs 06' Corvette?

I dont do drag races but this rich kid thinks hes the **** with his dads 06 corvette. it is not a z06 and its an automatic. The reason he wants to race me is because he says the sti is crap and worthless compared to his corvette. What i was wondering is, do u guys think the sti is fast enough to hang with it? i have tbe stage 2 cobb OTS. thanks

Yeah, even the non-Z06 vette will take care of your STI. The curb-weight of the vette is 3179 and the curb weight of your STI is around 3263 and the vette has 100 more horses than you Stock.

Don't worry tho, just tell him when he buy's his OWN car you two can race. Ask him how Daddy would feel if he knew he was out draggin in his vette.

That Z06 is a high 12 low 13 car. If you think you can get a good 60' and hold it you can beat him. Your car's not slow by an means. I'd take it to the track and watch the kid stand on it for the first 8th mile spinning. I guarantee he can't drive it.

Thats a good point. He will most likely just mash the gas and spin for quite some time if he doesn't know how to drive. It's also not a Z06 and is an auto if I'm not mistaken.

I meant regular corvette not Z06. The new Z06 is a beast that runs circles around the regular one. The regular Vette driven by what seems to be a total deusche nozzle will not run a good time. I'd put money on it. As forgiving as an auto is, it won't be forgiving for a track-newb that's nervous about losing to a 4 banger.

if he doesn't crash it from fish tailing, you'll take him out. Get a good launch and he won't be able to catch up before the quarter. difference in horsepower doesn't gurantee a win, just as the many guys who've had over 100 more hp than me who never saw the front end of my car...

Now top end, that's a different story (=

Yeah, from a roll he'll eat you up but on the street or track from a dig you can probably take him assuming you're a decent driver. Either way his dad still drives an automatic base model Corvette.............puuuuuuuuuuuussssssssssy.

I wouldn't drive a regular Vette if you paid me. The new Z06 and the last were the only Vettes I have ever liked. Best performance bang for the buck if you ask me.

kind of, the new z06 is what like 70k? couple people I know have been doing some good **** with the c6 z51, but yeah, vettes have always been sick *** cars...but I don't think they've got enough to take out a tuned sti in the quarter less their running some drag slicks with a helluva driver...

i'm sure he doesn't know how to drive it well. All they keep on saying was.. "i've gone up to 160 mph". i know i cant win on a roll. even tho i took a ferrari on a roll. But who knows, i might just have to run it and video record it. Or should I just wait on my gt30r install?

run him now, then on the gt30. Be sure to do it from a dig though, from a roll is no match.

BTW, did the ferrari know you were racing?
