Cali drivers beware....*edit* confirmed rumor

Missing license plates (front or rear) will no longer be fix-it tickets. Rumors are brewing that as of January 1st this violation will be a POINT on your driving record.

Just a heads up. Mine will be installed on New Years Eve.

If it's true, then ask Subydude about the fix.

He has one, and the hardware should be in by next week.

Ok, don't flame too much guys. This is why I said it was a RUMOR and just wanted to give a heads up. I called the CHP office in Sacramento and have confirmed the point thing is just a rumor.
The officer did confirm that they will be," cracking down heavily on cars without properly displayed plates."

Sorry for the uproar, there is always a little bit of truth to rumors and I got skeered. My record is messed up already..lol

Thanks for the heads up, but hoping that it's not true. If it is true there are going to be many unhappy people. Especially if you own an exotic car and you are told that you have to bolt a front plate on your bumper... it's bad enough to have to bolt one onto my Suby... grrr...

That is a sigh of relief, but a nice wake up call to bolt on your plate on those days that you don't want to get hassled...

i do think you aren't allowed to talk on a cell phone without a headset as of jan, and that if your wipers have to go on so do your headlights.

I'd like to confirm that a clarification has not been rumored to be given.
