Amazon.com in Fernley NV

Some of you may know that Amazon.com ships much of its stuff to western states from Fernley, Nevada. If you didn't know it before, you know now.

Nevada is home to more than just Amazon.com - Summit Racing and the Tire Rack also have warehouse and shipping in this business-friendly state.

Some of these dealers will jerk you for whatever they can get. When the Mini first came out, I rode along for a test drive (it was just okay) but they quoted my friend about $30k, which included a $4k premium over the window sticker.

Just before the STi appeared, a Maita salesman told me that they were gonna 'get' $4k over sticker for each one. Well, good for them. The guy was actually bragging about how they were hoping to gouge customers. I hope this winter is expecially cold, harsh, and bleak for that particular salesguy.

Salesguys like that nitwit are unscrupulous jerks who don't care about the product they sell. They only look at short term profits and not building long term business relationships with customers. Fortunately, no Subaru sold in America was ever produced in such small numbers as to command inflated pricing over MSRP. We never got the 22B.

I don't understand people who would pay tens of thousands of dollars over MSRP to own the first Dodge Viper.
