I think most girls/women do not consider getting a "sporty" Subaru. You see a lot of soccer moms and grocery getters driving Subarus, but very few drive the turbo or sporty versions. I do not think it is the first car they think of when buying new cars. I talked to my girlfriend when she was looking for a new SUV and got her to test drive the forester. She liked the standard forester, but LOVED the turbo forester when she drove it. Her quote exactly was "you gotta have the turbo". Booya! Now she has a silver 04 forester XT and loves it. I just bought a rally blue 04 WRX in the end of October, and she loves driving it. I don't think most women, or men for that matter, consider buying a Subaru when shopping for a new car. Their loss.
