Haha. Welcome to I-club. You should come out and join us at one of our meets. I joined I-club a year ago and yeah. Learned a lot. Met a bunch of people, and yeah. Haha.
3 Quick Notes, first two about learning, and one general note.
1. Just read up on the boards to learn about stuff. If you are not sure, just ask, and someone will try to help you.
2. Nothing like just doing it. Get your hands dirty and screw around with your car.
3. Last note and probably the most important. BEWARE OF LEGHUMPERS!!! especially hatteroo.
What is a hatteroo you ask?

it's silver. exactly the color i wanted. i plan on doing an exhaust sometime soon. i'm iffy about the down pipe because so many of my friends (which may i say are NOT subaru owners) give me different opinions on what i need to do with that. some say i need some ECU before the downpipe...some say i dont need it...i dont really know. i actually have quite a few questions i need to ask you guys that i will take the time to sit and type when i get the chance. glad to see you guys are nice. i was a bit shy and hesitant to post at first =/

Oh no3z. Hatteroo, where are you!?
As for the DP, on the 05 WRX 2.0L, you'll definitely want to get some type of tuning before you add a catless or high flow DP, even with stock cat back. The reasoning is because of some type of O2 sensor open loop that constantly advances timing (someone correct me if I'm wrong on this, but my memory is pretty weak sauce).
Oh yeah, my age, I'm hella old.
