don't mess with the IMPREZA

so here is a funny story of what happened to me tonite... as i was coming back from school at nite, some ***** in a eclipse (a chick car IMO) from PA was making a left turn out of left lane... perfectly legal... i was making same left out of right lane also legal... he however not being from NJ and not knowing the rules of road, decided that i made an illegal turn and he decided to cut me off by jumping from his left lane into my right after making the turn... i slammed on brakes so i dont hit him but was almost struck in the back by a SUV... well, luckly nothing happened to my "naked" STi... (no emblems, no spoiler)... at this point my V1 radar detector was picking something up... at that instant i thought of something great... i decided to use my V1 to my advantage and i pressed it... i caught up with him without trying but stayed behind him... by the way, i am not a street racer... so i pushed him to about 110mph at which point the V1 was goin berzerk... i knew where the cop was going to be so i just kept on his a$$ till a certain point when i backed off... i slowed down to 50 and let the moron drive off only to be busted by the well hidden cop
i think he was above 100 mph at that point which means bye bye car and license... i kinda feel bad for him but sorta dont... but this is to show that you shouldnt mess with an impreza because it might just be an STi

so what you're saying is, you're not a street racer, so you only pushed it to 110? Good call

I know we all get heated on the road sometimes, and anyone who comes in here and says they have never edged someone out or sped up a little just for fun with them is lying. However, 100mph + is a bit excessive for the city streets. Be happy you didn't get nailed by that cop too, or by another, and that you didn't get nailed by another car. Keep it safe.

i get what you're saying... but no, i am not a street racer because that would mean that i wouldnt give up until i smoked him and left him in dust...

this wasnt a city street but a highway, route 21, which if u ask any northern nj-ian about, they will tell you that cops are hard to come across and cars are seldom few...

i do drive safe, no accidents yet and no tickets in 4.5 years of driving... and i drove rest of way home at a cool 60mph...

That is stupid and has no relevance.

So if cops aren't usually there, they never will be (except today when you were driving 110mph). And what about the person who accidentally pulls out in front of you and you cream them. It's ok though, you weren't racing.

I stand corrected. Obviously, with 4.5 years driving, you have the skill of Michael Shumacher and Petter Solberg combined.

Gimme a break, man. I wasn't saying you were stupid, I was just saying to be careful because driving like that IS stupid, and think of how stupid you'll feel if you kill someone or get arrested.

i know that that kind of driving is stupid... and i dont usually do it... but also what i am saying is that out of the light, no one was in front of us... no one to hit, no one to kill... TRUST ME... and 4.5 years without a ticket of the 19 that i've been behind a wheel of a car... and last accident was in the late 80s... i'd say thats safe driving...

luckly my detecor helped me out with this one... but i know that i had at least 1/2 mile before the cop who was standing on the shoulder... most of the highway has no shoulder so cops aint around...

and for last time, i pushed him for maybe 1/4 mile... so it wasnt racing as i backed off... once i did that, the so called racing was off...

sorry mum

That is funny as hell. I have done that a few times with my V1. Expecially on the Highway.
