will it fit, yes, will it work, no....you would need to change your ring and pinion so the ratios matched.

Not sure if the axles/hubs are different too..i would guess they are, but not 100% sure...

there are 3 differentials on Subaru. Are you talking about front?center?rear?

If it is rear, it won't fit probably.
They are the same R160 but older Impreza and BC/BF Legacy use different rear diff from newer cars. The axles are different and how they are attatched to the diff is different too.The casing has cooling fins on old R160, that's how you can tell the difference.

this LSD on the ebay is from JDM BG Legacy.
It is 95 so it is newer R160. It should work fine with your RS. The ring is removed already so all you have to do is swap the ring gear onto it.
I believe it is still viscous so it's kinda weak. Don't expect too much from it. It's probably the same one as 00-01's LSD.

 

if I get a 02wrx 5spd rear diff + axles would they fit with my 02rs after i swap the final pinion and ring gear? i know someone that knows how to shim the diff. also.

or would it be better off i get an aftermarket lsd and 02wrx axles and slap on my own ring gear and final pinion?
