that's what im afraid of...because of the CEL every once in awhile and misfire..do you lose power when pushing the car?

i have the vishnu crank pulley, do you think that i should leave it off or put the stock one back on if i was to replace the clutch/flywheel?

sorry one more question, this clutch/flywheel combo that you got, is it cheaper than the hypersingle(exedy) clutch combo which is pretty damn expensive..i've been doing alot of research and just can't seem to pin point which clutch/flywheel would be best when i get my RA gears....i do alot of drag & auto x and daily driver...
thanks

The car is not acutally misfiring, it is just a sensor that was not built within spec of a lightened flywheel triggering, no loss in power at all. I am not a fan of the vishnu pulley due to the fact that it is underdriven quite a bit and can put strain on the rest of your accessories, but if I were you, I would change it out to stock, you might not experience CEL's then.

Well I would suggest staying away from ACT, I had a problem with my through out bearing that they gave me and they are bastards with warranty items, so I would suggest doing a lot of research into what clutch you want. Since you are doing quite a bit of dragging you might want to invest a little more in the clutch to get a little more out of it.

Cheers,
Austin

Now I have a Version 6 STi R/A 5 Speed with a 4.44 final drive, and I love it

how much did it run you?

Welll. . . depeneds on how in depth you want to go. Base for that setup was $2200 for transmission and diff + $900 for the R-180 rear, so that was base at $3100. I went the next step and did brembo fronts as well and that ran me $4000 all together.

I have vf22, pump, plugs, pinks, catless turbo back, esx tmic, injen cai, with ecutek tuning still on the stock clutch/tranny. Cruising around I'm usually at 16/17psi, at the track I ran 19.5psi and race gas. Cruising the car feels fine, but from multiple failed launches and first gear burns and slips the clutch feels sick. It feels real chunky and if you let it out about half way and stop, it'll continue to engage :-)... it's definately the next thing on my to do list. I would say it seems that the stock clutch/tranny can hold this setup just fine as long as you're always cruising, but for the track I would put money down that things will start to break real soon. I'm running a mobile 1/synchromesh mix in the tranny. My 4th gear synchro is sick, but the synchromesh helped a lot and it feels much smoother since putting it in.

Hope this helped...

I have done quite a few hpde track days with the vf 34 setup and stock clutch with no problems; I am at 41k now.

However, I would bet that drag racing would toast the tranny pretty quickly though.

I suppose the stock clutch lasting at the track would solely depend on your launch style. I favor a 5-6k feather. How were you launching when you were at the track and how many pounds were you pushing?

I'm also at 70k.

My hpde (high performance driver education) track days were/are all road racing. Unless you are very skilled I would imagine that drag racing any all wheel drive vehicle will ruin the clutch quickly and soon after you get a beefier clutch the rest of the tranny will begin to suffer.
