WIll a 2.5RS manual tranny fit in my 97 Legacy Outback 5-speed? Mine needs rebuilt and if I could find a cheap RS tranny from any of you 6MT swappers, that'd save me some bling.

Yes, the 2.5RS tranny will fit, direct bolt on to the engine, but you gotta match up the final drive ratio to your rear differential. There are different kinds of 2.5RS trannies, so make sure you got the right specs before you do the install - for example my 2.5Rs tranny is a 2005 model and it has got a 3.9 final drive.. Most of them are 4.11 ratio though
