what rear diff oil (for '98 2.2 L)?

Question what rear diff oil?

I am going to change my rear diff oil what kind should i use i have a 98 2.2L

I don't have a factory service manual for your model year but the rear differential probably takes the same 75W-90 gear oil that my WRX does. Drain oil completely, refill should require .8 quarts. Fill rear diff so that oil just reaches level at bottom of threads of the filler hole. Allow excess to drain out if car is on level ground, then tighten fill plug. Underfilling may cause rear diff to run hot. Excessive overfilling can lead to aeration of gear oil and reduced lubrication.

Well said - if you have never done it before than you probably do not have a pump - GET ONE when you buy your lube - consider syn!
