warming up clutch to prevent judder
how do you warm up a clutch to prevent clutch judder? my judder has been occurring more often with the warmer, more moist weather. it's becoming very irritating. it usually happens on hills, starting in 1st from stop. then sometimes when shifting from 1st to 2nd.
i'd have to say that my trips are relatively short, city drives. usually about 8 miles or so, usually lasting an average of 15 minutes. i have a short commute to school and usually don't drive anywhere far. would i be correct in assuming that this would not be enough time to warm up the clutch?
or should i rev it a little higher when feathering the clutch?
i dunno, i'm stumped...give me some advice...

just go get it fixed from dealer but u need to drop it off for the night so they can verify that it judders in the morning. I just did it here in Cali and it worked like a charm. just tell em i am sure they wont say anything. If they say anything just mention that there is a service bulletin for it.

well, i have a 2000 RS, therefore, my warranty no longer applies...and i'm not paying an arm and a leg for another oem clutch and flywheel and dealership labor...i'm just looking for a temporary solution until i can afford a new clutch/flywheel combo...

A nice clutch slip launch (after the car has fully warmed up) makes my shudder go away for a while. FWIW, I'm on a clutch which was replaced under warranty and it started shuddering after about 7K miles, just like the original one did.
I've got 75K miles on my '02 WRX and I've always had judder, especially on cool & damp spring mornings. Always goes away once everything is warm, so there's really no need to worry or to needlessly rip things apart to "fix".
