I was just curious, does Subaru plan on upgrading or replacing the man. trans in the WRX for 04 along with the styling changes?
It seems to me if they should try and upgrade it as there seems to be plenty of people saying the made of "glass."
If your selling higher performance cars you should expect them to be driven as such and not try and blame every thing on abuse.

03 vs. 04. CHeaper and now vs. restyling and later.
5sp vs. auto More likely to break vs. S.O. can drive it.
If the 04 came with a more rugged 6 speed, the decision would be easy.
I am going to call up some sources at SOA to check out this one. I hope it is more than a rumor.

Well it would be easier to make one production line of transmissions instead of three of them. One for the A/T and two for the 5spd and 6spd. I doubt it will happen though. Unless Subaru loses in court too often. Wonder why Mitsu got corn holed in Japan for covering up design problems when Subaru has been selling the same POS 5spd that has proven issues for 10 years.
