i need to change the oil in my tran any brand that are better than any others. thanks

i used Redline MTL in my STi, and it shifts like butter!!!. highly recommend it. only downside is that it costs $10 a quart.

Although most people here will recommend it, I would stay away from full synthetic tranny oils, especially since you own a 02 WRX. There's nothing proven here, but I think it actually aided in tearing down my tranny in my 03. It made the synchro grinds go away for alittle bit, and it shifted really smooth, but later on it started grinding in more than 1 gear, and then my trans blew.

I now have RA gears from Gruppe-s and they put regular old dino oil in. I asked why and it's for pretty much the same reason. Synthetics are almost "too slippery" for our trannys. STi 6 speeds are a different story.
