Tranny with no oil
I was just wondering if anyone new what a tranny would feel like if it had no oil in it.
Over the last month or so, i've been getting this strange feeling assif theres no oil in my tranny(FWD), it feels assif i can feel everything going on in there, like i feel all the metal on metal sort of thing. It is physically harder to move the gearstick now, and sometimes it feels a bit jammed when getting it out of 1st.

does it do it when the trans is cold?
because if i run high speeds or change gears alot it gets hot and feels like what you discribe
it is because the stock fluid is not so good at high temps and good synthetic oil is the answer to the problem
motul is good from what i heard but dont get royal purple because its to slippy if you do a search you will find just what you want

I had Motul Gear 300 in there before changing back to the dino oil, and i can say that the Motul felt a lot better.
But i would prefer to try a different brand other than motul to experiment, then i will be able to compare it to motul, theres no point getting the same oil again.

Ya but i live over here in Australia, and its not just as simple as going to an auto store and grabbing those brands of oils off the shelf, about 90% of auto stores have never heard of those brands, and only specialised stores have them.
It was a pain just to find the Motul oil.
Anyway, have you heard anything about the Castrol Syntrax? Because on the pack it says excellent synchronizer performance.
