I have an 02 wrx with just around 21k miles on it.
and when im driving in 2nd-5th gear and give it gas it will rev up like normal but when it gets to around 5200-5500rpm it kind of bogs down. its not really that bad in 2nd or 3rd but in forth and 5th it drops down to like 3000rpm. can anyone please help cause it is bugging the **** out of me.

Oh,and if i take it from first Through 5th pretty hard (Racing) I have no problems.

sounds like a boost problem,do u have a boost gauge?

ya i have a boost guage.
Its holding steady even when the rpms drop.
Im not really sure whats happening but it kind of feels like the clutch is slipping. but if that was the case wouldnt it do it in every gear.

 

no i had probems with my clutch in 4th and 5th only, if its slipping lets say your at 3000rpm if you give it a little gas the rpms will go up like 4500rpm then it will catch and go, someone told me a trick to warm up the clutch so its grabs again, act like your slipping it but dont let it out all the way kind of like ur burning it, i tried it and it works for me till my trans blew.

well my tranny/clutch (not really sure what it was) died on me today.

I was driving back to school (a 2hr drive) when i hit some construction, when i tried to speed up it just revved up and then started making a clunking sound. called road side assistance.
hopefully the dealership can fix this pretty damn quick ( I NEED MY CAR) it should be under warranty.
