The most obvious solution is a RA gearset they are 50% stronger than stock

Invest and have a shop install them

If you do not want to spend the oh... 2-4k on the gears then lets spend like 5-7k on the STI tranny

just my .02

Gimme Gears no longer sells them and told me I can only get a gear set in New Z. I get the re-build with the new gears for free, so just a matter of procuring the right gears. Do aftermarket gearsets generally come with a warranty?
Its just a RA style gear set with the first 2 gears being straight cut and the rest helical.

Far as i know the 02-03's where the real big problem years with the tranmission. The 04's seem to solve this problem with a gear saving mechanism by not allowing immediate full engagement of the clutch.

I will lookup the website in which i found the RA gearset i was thinking of and post you a message later.

If you want to handle real power i.e. <300whp you need the 6MT.

Agreed. After my 3rd gear went out in my '02, I bought the STi 6MT... with the rest of the STi wrapped around it.

I would suggest being easier on the shifts, or learning how to shift properly.

The RA gearset can be had for ~2500 installed.

If u choose to go the 6 speed route, let me know, I have a JDM Ver 7 STi RA 6 speed for sale, including full shift linkage, drive shaft, front and rear axles, and rear R180 diff. But yes, I would suggest either that or the RA gearset. Also, it sounds like something might just be wrong with the tranny case...if u keep blowing the same gears, its either the way u are driving, or possibly the tranny its self is tweaked.
