sti motor on my 2.5rs tranny

i have an sti motor comming for my car and was wondering if the stock rs tranny would be able to hold up to it or if its just worth swapping in the tranny. also if the sti tranny were to be swapped would i need to change the driveshafts along with it or could i use the stock rs axles

I would just use your stock tranny until it blows. As long as you know how to drive you should be fine. Just dont try AWD burnouts. There is basically no strength difference between the RS tranny and WRX one. If you use a JDM STi tranny, then if it is a 5 speed you can use the front axels, but I think the rear diff is not the R160, so you could not use the same axels that you currently have on your rear diff. If you just have the STi tranny and no rear diff then you need to pick up a '00 or '01 Auto RS rear diff. That way your final drive ratios will match up.
