Shot Peening
have any of you sent your gears out to be shot peened? i'm just looking for a ball park cost for shot peening two or three gears.

hell's bells, with all the tranny failures and problems you'd think someone would have sent their gears in to get shot peened by now. Or do they come shot peened from the factory?

got em cryo treated too

shot peening is not expensive at all
you can even do it your self if you buy a sandblasting booth and buy glass or steel shoot instead of sand
