rear drive shaft boot ?

the band holding my rear drive shaft boot broke.
i can move the boot around and there's grease all over the place
can i just re-band the boot and pack it with new grease?
i don't know if warranty will cover this as it was damaged by my cat-back. any help appreciated thanks.
