I have a 2004 STi

Thanks

I"m using the motul in my gear box right now, I haven't gotten around to changing it in my rear differential, but so far I have no complaints with it. the shifter shifts smooth but I haven't really noticed a difference over the factory oil. With the factory oil I never had any problems either. Oh yeah you can change the gear oil and not change the rear diff oil, they do not have to be the same oil.

I had to order the motul gear oil since I could not find it locally. BTW I drive a 03 wrx sedan.

Oh yeah for some good reading you can do a search on motul there have been lots of threads regarding this stuff.

i'm about to put Motul 300 in both the transmission and the rear diff. you don't have to use the same stuff in the diff and the transmission, but i'm going to. Motul 300 is supposed to work fine in viscous LSDs so we'll see how it goes.

I looked for the castrol syntrax, I could not find it in the staes, I think they only sell it in Australia. I heard that is what the oem fluid is.

OEM is definitely not synthetic.
