Everything above it true. Also, it is almost impossible to powershift with just a short shfter lever. You need a complete short shifter linkage assy to be able to do that.

What is double-clutching?

The reason I ask this is that during the last autocross I went to (my first) I discovered that the WRX does not like to go back into 1st. I was whining about driving in 2nd at low RPM's and the lack of pick-up when I was advised that, "if all else fails you can double-clutch." Not wanting to look like an idiot I just said, "Right!" nodded my head and walked off.

So what is double-clutching?
