I was wondering if there was a way to swap a nissan rear diff into a GC. If so is it a direct fit or is some mods needed.

anyway, u dont need to swap the rear diff to have rwd. what u need to do is open the tranny, weld the center diff, and remove the front axles but u have to leave the outer splines in the hubs.

 

no the car is already rwd and my friend has been driving it for a couple of weeks now. if you read the new sport compact car mag it will tell you how it is done. the reason we are looking at the possibility of a nissan rear diff is we are wondering if it is stronger. and before you say anything else this car is just a summer playtoy his wrx is his everyday driver/ winter car. Please someone who knows what they are talking about respond!

 

There are lots of high quality rear diffs made for our cars.

Cusco, OS Giken, Ogura, Kaaz, etc...

 

not really sure what exactly we are looking for. just wondering which is stronger. if a subaru diff is strong enough then we'll just stick with that

 

not many peopel blow out the rear end, they just kill the lsd

 

he blew out his diff but i think it was just because there is 130k on the car. it shredded the teeth off of the inner gear.

 

like i said ealier the car is a play toy. have you ever tried drifting an awd on dry pavement, its not as easy as a rwd. not to mention he now has the bad *** looks of a subura plus the fun of a rwd.
