need help on automatic tranni

ok so i have a 02 rex with a AT tranni and the AT OIL TEMP light is flashing when i turn the car on, i checked the owners manual and it said the system might not be working...what should i check to see whats wrong?

-check the fluid level
-when was the last time the fluid was changed?
-Has the car felt any different while driving?

ill check the fluid...and the last time i changed it was when my radiator cracked...
nope is been driving good good
