I know that they're lighter than stock.

How light before you throw a CEL?

It's not the lightness that causes the CEL. Poor driving causes it. I know firsthand, it took me a while to realize that the misfire CELs I got from my Exedy flywheel were from poorly rev-matching and letting the engine speed change too rapidly. If you drive smoothly, you'll never get a CEL, even with a 9 lb. flywheel. But, you can induce the CEL with a lightened stock flywheel if you have enough of teh suck with the clutch.

Flywheel

I wanna know how light of a flywheel is necessary for a 300Whp street-driven car? What are the cons that's associated with having a lightened flywheel?

It's not necessary. Lighter flywheels have benefits independent of horsepower. They're helpful in a 2.2liter L if you wnat one for those reasons. What you do need is a stronger clutch, and most of the time people who need one also get the other since the cost of the extra labor is almost zero. For a 400 hp Subaru, I'd recommend an Exedy Hyper Single, although there are many options that will get the job done. The Hyper Single is a reduced-diameter unit with tons of torque-holding capacity and the equivalent of a 10-pound flywheel, I think.

Flywheel

I was thinking of getting a 14lb flywheel or somewhere close to the stock flywheel's weight. What I'm trying to say is that I just wanna get rid some of the parasitic drag that the stock flywheel causes to the car without causing any engine or tranny damage...

Anything lighter than 12lbs is not good, as you might have timing belt teeth skippage issues.

There's a big difference between 14 pounds and stock weight. Most of the flywheels you will find will be between 12 and 14 pounds. Just check before you buy. It's hard to tell the difference between 12-14 pounds anyway.
