I THINK my rear end is DONE!!!!.... ugh !

ok so i got a 06 wrx with approx 62000 miles
my passenger side rear tire i keep getting really abnoRmal tire
wear. kind of like one tire fire. all bushings etc look good. no excessive play. no bent suspension.
alighnment is within specs. only other thing i can think of is this tire is getting
more torque TO THAT side. being a mech defect in the REAR LSD.

any help greatly appreciated

Might be a long shot but have you checked your wheel bearings? How is the tire wearing. Inside outside, scuffing, blah blah blah. When was the last time you had your car aligned (i know you said the alignments are withing spec), The person who aligned it might have done it in the wrong order (i.e. putting the toe in spec first, instead of last).

had the same problem with wheel bearings .. they go out around 60000 miles on Subaru's. U might wanna change them. Mine was clunking noise couldn't figure out ... even put new endlinks but the noise was still there and checked for everything else ... eventually found out that it was the wheel bearing right rear.

dont have any pics. the wierd thing thats stumping me is its even tire wear. inner, middle, and outter all are identical wear. same number inMM. i use to be a tech and am now a service advisor for VOLVO. i alighned it when tires were put on. roated regularly. that one tire within approx 8-10000 miles is shot an all others still have a good tread depth still. ugh......

wheels bearings in rear on passenger side where that tire is has no play. i dont even hear noise coming from the rear......

You got me stumped, maybe it is a defect tire. I don't know what else it could be, since everything that relates to tire wear is in correct working order. The only that i could think of to do would be crack open the diff.

Edit: Have you tried putting it up on a frame contact lift and have someone bring the car up to 35-40ish and use a mechanics stethoscope and listen to the rear?

na havent done that either. i just bought new tires and after 500miles both rears are at exact same MM .... inner, middle. an outter. im so puzzled!. lol so far the new tires have been wearing well. im also thinking lame tire brand and
a tire defect. what also leads me in this direction is once i got that tire out
of that spot. the other did not wear like that or that fast.
