how old is the 5mt?

how old is the design of the 5mt? I am compiling info for my small claims case and I think this would help. what car was it originally used on (how much HP did it put out)? is there a site(s) out there that has info like this. I searched all over I-club with no success.

Thanks in advance.
Doug.

I don't think hear say on an internet BBS is going to do squat for you in a court of law.

I've read (here) that the transmission is basically the same design as was used 20 years ago.

i know it wont do squat, but the more "learned" I am on the subject at hand, the better off I am. I'm no mechanic so every little bit counts.
