Unhappy Help...Weird noise at 120 MPH

So tonight I was driving my car and when I got to about 110/120 MPH this really weird humming noise kicked on.....at first I thought it might have been the rev buzzer or whatever it is but it wasn't like a beep it was more of a hum...My car is an 07 STI and my boyfriend thinks it might be my differential... Should I take mu car in or should I have nothing to worry about???? HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!

These cars use to "hum" around that speed due to the side mirrors. Maybe that's the same cause.

By the way, why were you going 110/120? Go 100. No humming.

I find once I pass 135mph ish the noise goes away

or you can put a small piece of electrical tape along the gap between the mirror and the mirror mount (where it pivots, on the bottom)

:armee_smilies122:

That's because you already went past the sound barrier.

lol at the tape idea. Try folding your mirrors in then go 110+ (on closed course only) and see if it hums. If not then consider getting bling carbon fiber side mirrors. :couch2:
