griding noise

last i was driving and i hear a grinding noise between 1900 and 2200 rpm. its not to loud but it sounds like it is comming from the tranny. it also happens in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. i normally drive easy with a lil bit of spirted driving. I have never dumped the clutch. my car is a 04 wrx with 15900 miles on it. i asked someone else they said it might be the clucth goin out.
any input?
thanks
