What are the diff. between the two.. i know the sti axles are suppose to be stronger but what are the differences?? Would an 06 wrx axles fit in my 06 sti. Will it fit and would it cause any problems besides just being weaker...

 

they should fit but, i think you will have issues. the part numbers for the axels are different. i have heard of people with 6MT swaps having problems with fluid leaking. dont know where the leak is coming from(ive never seen the car). what are you trying to do?

i broke my left rear axle on my sti. and found a wrx axle for really cheap and was wandering if i could just put the wrx axle in my sti for a quick fix.. i dont plan on keeping it long.. just for a couple of months until i got some more money in my pocket...my car is an 06 and the axle i found is out of an 06 wrx:censored:

 

well, the diffs on the two cars are pretty much the same. i dont think you will have any leaking issues. but you will have one axle that is smaller and weighs less. its tough to say if you will have problems or not. maybe yes, maybe no. i don't think it would hurt to try. how much are you looking to spend on an axle? i think i can get a stock one pretty cheap. let me check tomorrow and ill get back to you.
