Clutch Noise! Help!
I'm hearing a squeking noise when I push my clutch all the way down on my 00rs even when the engine is off. Its sounds like a door opening. I don't know what it is but I got the car with a performance clutch. ANy help is appreciated, thanks

Put a little grease on the area where the slave cylinder rod makes contact with the TOB arm assembly. If its from behind the dash you just need to oil the pedal assembly under the dash. Usually its the slave cylinder rod making noise from friction where it meets the lever that moves the TOB. Try those two and see if it fixes or reduces the noise.
I used lithium grease. Nasty stuff but pretty slippery. Guest

Could be your that your Throw Out Bearing is worn. Did you replace it when you put in your new clutch kit? Some kits come with them and some don't. This won't affect the performance, just annoy you until you replace it. If it makes a LOT of noise and gear engagement is slowed, then it might be seized, in which case you'll need to replace it.

Maybe try just adding some grease on the shaft that the TOB slides over. It could just be that there is no grease on it. I wouldn't bother taking it to a transmission shop for that. Take it to the dealer especially if its under warranty. Why pay for a shop to look at it when they usually just want to sell you parts like a new clutch or a rebuild.

I've tried putting in some grease already. It still makes the noise and now my 5th gear is slipping into neutral and my 1st gear is grinding. My tranny is f-up! I need a miracle. Anyone know how long it takes to fix this and the cost? Comments pleaze....

I don't think you understand what I am talking about. Not the lever where that the slave cylinder makes contact but remove the TOB and apply grease to the actual shaft inside the bell housing that the TOB slides over. If the clutch disc is shot its possible to have that the clutch just isn't engaging so when you change gears it grinds. Pull the clutch and take a look if you have access to a lift.

I dont have access to a lift and I have no Idea what you talking about? I'm no mechanic. I guess I'm not in luck but I'll keep your info as references, do you have any other comments I should need to know in case the shop tries to screw me? Thanks

I have the same noise at times. I am just going to have my Subie mechanic take a look at it when I take my car in for service on Wed.

i had the exact same noise , subaru greased it under warranty, it was fine for about 3 days. Took it to another dealer and they replaced the bushings and its been better since then. Although they also replaced the TOB and flywheel for clutch judder. I had it in for both problems at the same time.
