clutch Masters fail after a year?
I had a clutch masters clutch (stage 1, on 2.5l engine) fail after 16,000 miles. What is up with that???
Heck, I even waited 3 months until they could ship me the darn clutch in the first place?
My OEM clutch lasted 42,000 miles, so I put in the heavy duty clutch ($500 parts, $500 labor), thinking it would last the life of my car. Given my poor experience with the OEM clutch, I have been babying this one. Here I am 12+ months later with no clutch.
I have driven over 500,000 miles on clutches, and they always last over 90,000 miles until I got the subaru. This sucks!
What to do? Sell the car, or is there a solution to my clutch woes???
Going to call them to see if they will warranty it. Anyone else had problems with them?

I bought a clutch master clutch too and it barely lasted 20k miles. Changing it this weekend to an exedy sport model and flywheel. I think my problem was I didnt replace the flywheel and probably should have. Who knows though, maybe they just wear out quick.

I guess they suck. I only got 16K out of it. Flywheel was resurfaced, and I drove on it much gentler than I did with the OEM.
I still can't believe it. I spent 500+ on the clutch, and 500 on the install total of $1,000- which was $400 more than the price I was quoted for the OEM like clutch. And, it is junk!!!

Actually, the idea was to use a stronger clutch plate, with a similar clutch disk. Thus, there would be no more "grab" just stronger pressure on the disk (this of course means a stiffer clutch pedal).
I have done that on other cars with great success. However, I will never buy a clutch master again.
Maybe I should try to fit a "turbo clutch disk" to my 2.5l. I want a stronger pressure plate than stock, and a similar friction material.
Hopefully the next (non CM) clutch will do better!

Use stock clutch, it saves gears. More grab = more load on trans.
