Is 80W90 usable gear oil for WRX?

Is 80w90 gear oil suitable for use in an 02 WRX transmission and rear differential, or is the 75w90 more appropriate? Is there a noticable difference between the two? Thanks

don't know about rear dif but that's what I have in the tranny. It work well after it warms up, for the first few minutes requires some effort to get it out of first.

i think the stock fluid in the front diff is 80w90 and the rear was 75w90, or it could be the otherway around. but most people are using 75w90 in front and rear without any problems.
