I have a 97 Legacy GT with a 5speed, and it has a couple tranny issues. Something in the tranny is clacking, or rattling, especially around 2k rpm under a slight load. Also, when the engine was out, and turning the input shaft by hand, you could hear a clacking noise. if I could describe it, it almost sounds like a realy sloppy ring & pinion set up.
The second issue, is that in crunches going into 5th gear.
Right now it has redline 75-90. Any ideas????

I decided to change to a heavier fluid...well, when I drained the redline, there was a nice chunk stuck to the magnet on the drain plug(looked like a woodruff key), and the oil was like a nice metallic rainbow!!! So I'm just going to buy a new/used tranny.
