05' DCCD Question

On my 05' STi, when the DCCD is set to auto what is the car really doing? Is it a set ratio? or constantly adjusting? Does it take input from a yaw sens? Is it active yaw control? What about the front limited slip? I read that it is an electric locker, does that adjust in auto or all the time?

Thanks,
Mike

I don't think there are yaw sensors, and I know there is no yaw control. I don't think the front is limited slip. It is an electronic center, and it constantly adjusts based on the other sensors (RPM, speed, etc.) with some very nice software. It is pretty smart and can usually send the power where it is needed. When it is manual, it still will adjust, but it is less reactive and tries to bias towards your setting. So if you have it set biased all the way to the rear, it will act normal till you lose traction and then it will send more power to the rear then the front regardless of slip within limits.

I have a picture from the 05 Impreza Service manual that I can fax to you that shows it has it.

It states yaw rate & lateral G sensor.

It's located by the console and the e-brake
