03 trans destroys 2nd gear
So, i have an 02 wagon with quite a few mods done to it (bought it that way). well, recently i was messing around in some dirt, doing some practice, going around a barrel, clutch kicked it a few times to keep it in power. well, not knowing how weak the 2nd gear is, i blew it up.
i replaced the transmission with an 03, and this being my daily driver i decided not to repeat my mistake. well, i guess these trans just cant hold up to power, as without beating on it, i have blown up yet ANOTHER 2nd gear......
now heres my problem: do i say forget it and go RA gears, STI 5mt gear set, use 2011 gears, or shell out for a 6speed?
i dont plan on putting anymore power down, just have it tuned for e85/93 octane (moving to VA.) i feel like the 6speed would eliminate most of my problems, and is the same price as upgrading my trans....
help?
mods:
vk39
650 injectors
255lph pump
brand new coils/1 step colder plugs
wide band
catless up/down pipes
tuned for 91, no idea the hp since i bought it this way
