02 WRX tranny questions

I've had my 02 WRX now for about 2 years and my family's had it since new, and it hasnt had any real tranny problems other than a clutch change about a year ago. But now i seem to feel like i have to add more gas to get out of 1st and same in second. What are some of the early signs that your tranny is going bad? Could this just be my clutch. Any help or advide would be appreciated

I changed the clutch last april when the car had about 37,000 miles on it(the car has 45,000 now). There have only been 2 drivers on the car since new and the car did sit for about 3 months during the last 4 years. If it is the clutch should i upgrade to something a little stronger and higher performance?

I ask if i should get a higher performance clutch because my car has been modified. Only bolt on mods, but im just curious if a better clutch would help.
