Mach 1

I Raced two Mach 1's sat. night, beat one, got beat by one. I'm not going to say were but it was the middle of nowere, the first one was a freinds his is an auto and has intake, exhaust and computer tuning put down 296? whp on the dyno. We did'nt have anyway to measure out a 1/4 mile so we agreed to race to 105mph wich should be more than either one of us would trap in the quarter. Off the line i got him by at least 3 car links by the time we hit 105 he was almost to my rear bumper ( he's so pissed off ). Next I ran the other Mach his is a 5 speed has a little more done to it than the other and 10.5" wheels on the back with drag radials when I launched he was right there with me I was like WTF ! That car launched hard as hell ! he beat me buy about a car length. All in all I was happy with the way my little 2.0 handled its self considering I've got maybe 235whp might be less and there putting out 300+.

^^Nice mods, especially the wheels (I wanted those but settled for Rota's=cheaper), how many miles on your s-techs, i.e. how are your shocks holding up?

mach 1's run low 13's all day. i dunno what your car would be running but i think the mach 1 with 5 speed isnt a good driver. my stock 02 wrx would be a 1/2 car ahead till the end of 2nd gear then i would get left standing still against a stock 96 cobra. from a roll wrx has no chance. i traded in the wrx for another cobra. so much happier.

get real. it would take a turbo upgrade to beat a mach 1. they are so underrated. LS1s are fast as **** right? and now the mach 1 is a drivers race with them stock and with equal drivers on average the mach's are gettin better e.ts. go do some research. go on stangnet.com and go to the mach 1 section see what they run stock. youd be surprised. over a full second faster than a wrx and thats only from a stop. race one from a roll.

^^^why all the hate? I see your handle=2002 wrx 4 sale, did you buy yours for drag racing?......eeeeehhhhhhhh<-------sound of buzzer going off, wrong.....
if you bought yours for drag racing and are now disappointed to find how much money it takes to get into the 12's you should have done your research before buying....
take your car to an auto x course and forget the drag strip, subaru didn't build these cars with that in mind.

i liked the handling of the car but that can get you into more trouble than rwd. then you think you can take turns at any speed. which you can't. $10,000 later after i messed it up pretty good. i have to say honestly 100% of races happen from a street light or from a roll on the highway. say i got a wrx again, it would be automatic and i wouldnt even want to try to go fast in it because it's simply not worth trying to make fast. parts are expensive as F.

parts for mustangs ain't cheap either, especially since the new ones come with some crappy plastic upper intake manifold, engine compartments are so squeezed on those cars that just installing headers cost you more than $500, all cars are expensive to modify.

How about those s4 owners who get ripped by the aftermarket industry just because they bought a "luxury sports car", $1k for a catback system.....please

You'll end up spending alot more money to make a mustang handle better than a wrx because they weigh 3500+ pounds, its all relative.

mustang parts are cheap. they did go up in price the last two years though. i think it's that sheet metal costs more now or something.

there are cobras that rally. $$ tho. not really worth it for a daily driver. i'll eventually get my subframe connectors, springs and control arms if i dont sell it for an 03 next year.
only long tube headers are expensive to install. shorty headers bolt right on.

yea my friend is obsessed with the s4. not for that money. headlights are like 800 a lone.
