14.0 w/ cobb stage 2?

that was the best i could run all night. i was hitting consistent 14.1's and a 14.0 (almost 13's dammit). analyze my times! here was the slip times:

60": 1.870
I2: 5.767
I3: 9.002
I4: 11.753

E.t : 14.06
MPH: 95.433

my mods are hks dp, hks hi-power catback, gfb stealthfx bov, removed intake silencer, and cobb stage 2. i thought i launched my car well as it felt pretty good coming out of that dig. i mean 1.8 60 fts arent that bad right?

also, i just let my car bounce off the rev limiter because it hits it right before the finish line (about 20 feet before). should i do that or should i shift to 4th? alright later guys...

How hard were you shifting? Also you should probably shift to fourth.

You should be able to get into the mid-13's with a Cobb Stage2.

BTW, you should at the least gut your uppipe, you'll see some nice gains. Helix is also a nice choice.

The HKS DP isn't as free-flowing as a Bellmouth/Divorced Wastegate designed DP, and you will not reach your target boost levels for a Cobb Stage 2 w/the HKS DP. The HKS DP is poorly designed(it blocks off the wastegate exhaust like the OEM DP), and with a better DP(bellmouth or divorced wastegate), you should be in the 13s no problem, as well as your target boost level for a Cobb Stage 2 (15.5-16.0 PSI i believe).

Your speed through the traps indicates that your car has enough power to get into the 13s and your 60 ft time is decent. Try shifting into 4th gear instead of revving beyond redline.

My times are similar to yours except that I can turn 13.80s and 13.90s with a 1.8 to 1.9 second 60 ft clocking. My MPH is similar although it fluctuates within 1 mph to the mid-96 MPH range. I shift into 4th gear at 6500 RPM because my car doesn't accelerate very hard after about 6000 RPM and my shift point seems to drop me back into a meaty-enough portion of the power band to make up for the gear change.

i don't think the hks downpipe is slowing you down at all cause I went 13.93 with a 1.9 60 foot at 97mph with hks downpipe, ti exhust, and stock intake mod.

i'm sure he can still easily hit 13s no problem, but that HKS downpipe is definitely not the most efficient DP. You WILL make more power w/a bellmouth/divorced wastegate DP.

I forgot to add, that was with my 18s on the car. I don't know if the are hurting me or not. I would think they would slow me down.

well i know i could do better because i'm having boost problems. I was never able to reach full target boost (15.7 +-.5 psi). I get only 14.5 max boost. My times show it too because I am able to hit a better 60" time and still get slower 1/4 mi. times that a lot of people. My car just isn't as fast after the 1st gear compared to other wrx's i guess. Dam I need that new HWG map from cobb...

You're supposed to have a TBE for Cobb Stage 2. I run 13.1 with mine. With what he has, I consider his time to be about right.
