03 mustang gt suckered in and killed (at drag strip)

So i watched this mustang beat my friends ls1 ws6 t/a who can't launch for his life and win. So we go back to the hang out spot and I start talking to him and he tells me what he has, not much intake upper and lower 4.6s have two halfs, and a throttle body and a high performance cats and 3.73s. so i say i only have exhaust so we raced and i beat him by 2cars pretty cool.

Do you have a STI or a regular WRX?

I have an 02 wrx automatic with a header and turbo back exhaust pushing 18lbs. Left the line at 3500 roughly 13lbs. and beat him good.ran 14.0 @ 97mph before header.

I thought stock GTs get 13's in 1/4 mile. If you had a M/T I would believe you, but an automatic running 14's beating a modified GT. Sounds unbelievable unless the GT driver doesnt know how to drive.

My friend has a stock GT, & the best he can run is 15.0 I know that's cause he doesn't know how to drive (he shifts too early, actually), BUT, I don't think the car is cabable of much more than mid-high 14's stock.

stock mustang GT's have like 260HP. I thought they get mid to high 13's. V6 Mustangs have 190HP those get 15's, but they're not GT's.

a friend of mine has a GT w/ exhaust and X-pipes. hits low 14s all day. they arent fast for the power they put out. i thought they would be in the 13s at least.

well my mods are in my profile and I normally leave at about 4k on the e-brake with the brake pumped twice. leave at about 14lbs on factory boost gauge.leave car in drive and launch like a bat out of hell 63kmiles and still going unbelievably strong. beat on since the day I drove it out of the factory with 7miles on her. love these cars.

GT mustangs are not very fast. i can beat modded ones in my stock wagon. with a good driver a stock GT can hit 14s. i used to beat them with my se-r which never ran better than 14.7 off the bottle. but they can be made fast, for not alot of money especially 5.0s

It all depends on the driver, most GTs more specifically the current ones are low 14 second cars. Debbid, if your stock wagon beats modded GTs then those guys deffenitelly can't drive.
