i kinda feel retarded posting this but here it goes:

my brother-in-law just got a 98 trans am (automatic) that's completely stock. the numbers he claims that the car can put down in stock form even with the automatic seem grossly inflated. My guess is high 13's at best maybe even low 14's... ready for this? he claims it's capable of running around 13 flat! to me that seems borderline retarded, so here's my question:

To put him in his place, how do you think my 02 wrx would stack up? I just installed my borla hush exhuast system and green filter (flat filter) and have an sti short shifter. Would he dust me in the 1/4? If so, what about the 1/8th (we'll probably be running the 1/8th when we run)?

One more thing, and this is very important... if he can beat me now, or if it'll be close now, what do i need for my car to pull this one off? I'm planning on getting either AccessPort next or the Hex uppipe and downpipe combo.

Good luck, that car is quick. According to most Mag. that car runs 14.4 in the 1/4 @ 104mph. Which is just a littel quicker than a 02 WRX. You should be able to get him out the hole if you get the jump on him and get him to smoke his tires But you would have to come out hard. His car is an auto so there is not much for him to do but gas it ,with all that HP(305) and TQ he may just hand you a 2 car lead.You should be able to get him in a 1/8 race but a 1/4 will be closer. With your modest mods you should be ok. Exhaust is going to do wonders. Combine with some kind of tuning you should have no problems just don't miss shift.
