Hi all,
I need your help guys. My tranny is going out and i found a local seller with what i believe the part i need. I have an 02 2.5RS 4sp. The seller has a 02 WRX auto tranny. Would the parts fit? I tried doing some searches online, however i wasn't able to find a direct answer. Maybe you guys can help me out. Thanks a bunch.

 

it might work but i think you will need a new rear diff also

 

Be careful of the different clutch types. Pull or push style clutches. Also consider things like whether it is a cable clutch or a hydraulic clutch. And like silverbullet said, the rear diff. The gearing is different for both transmission as well. I believe the final drive on teh WRX is 3.9 and the rear diff is 3.54 or something... while the 2.5RS tranny is 4.11 final drive and rear diff.

 

Wait... I totally misread that. You should still check the above things though. If you are going from AT to AT... I still think the gearing is a little different. Same with the rear diff. But yeah... check the gearing for the tranny and the diff.

 

do you know where i can check these info? I'm quite clueless. I believe i will call Subaru to check the part number. I always thought the only thing difference was the engine. Where can i get a new diff? Autozone? Sugguestions anyone
