Wideband O2 help needed

I have a rs with a Sti Ver4 swap done and I just bought a AEM wideband to install I was hoping to install it myself as I have an unused bung on my uppipe already. Unfortunately the instructions tell you it needs to be after the turbo to function properly. The only O2 sensor I use is already in the bung in my downpipe. I guess my question is can you use the boshe wideband O2 sensor for the gauge and for the CPU, instead of welding on another bung and running two sensors. Any help would be great.
