if i had that kind of money, i'd get a full sti swap (motor, tranny, rear dif, brakes, etc. w/ dccd). and from there i'd upgrade the turbo to a green, exhaust, uppipe, supporting mods, etc. thats good enough for something like 400whp which would push your L into 11s on the strip EASY. suspension wise, the brakes would stop the car very well, i'd get some coilovers, some wider/bigger rims and tires, upgrade the sways and you'd be set. your car would be MONSTROUS haha

alot....but for how long is the question, and how smooth are you at shifting plays a big part

just pulling numbers and facts out of my *** i'd say you can go near 400 without any reliability problems other than the clutch, if you shift smoothly, but if you plan on drag racing launches all the time you should upgrade the tranny even on stock power levels...

if you can stand the noise and dent in the wallet, get a dog box, then do whatever the hell you want to the tranny

ever hear a roots type supercharger because thats how loud it is and i think they would be very doable for a dd

and mrt has a unbreakable dogbox for 9k and if it breaks they send you a new one

The title says "Dream Engines," but the thread has veered off topic... How about we talk engines? Mine - Crawford Performance S4. BTW, anyone have any experience with Crawford motors?

in my dreams i think i would go crazy with the materials -have someone machine me a billet titanium EJ22t bottom end. While i'm at it, might as well get titanium pistons, rods, valves... Titanium DOHC heads with direct injection and BMW's continuosly variable valve system in the works. Might take advantage of some of the newer magnesium alloys to make an engine around only 100lbs. Since it could take 50+ lbs of boost i would probably set up a compound turbo charging system. Commercialy pure copper radiator and oil cooler(s). Inconel exhuast. Carbon fiber intake manifold, timing belt and valve covers. Gold foil would be used for heat sheilding like on the McLaren F1... sigh.

That would be mine, if I had unlimited funds.

As far as something more tangible, This is what I would run

http://www.crawfordperformance.com/e..._package.shtml

Spec C heads w/ JUN valvetrain
With the 2.8 I might as well throw in a T88
Motec to run the whole shebang.
