I don't know what's compatable with my car. Are all speedometer clusters the same for 1st generations? i found this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JDM-S...s#ht_500wt_975 but its says STI on it. does it work for the 1999 Forester L? HELP!

Is this the one you're talking about??? Is yours an Auto?Does it look similar to your L's cluster?? What chassis code is your Forester...SF? That's the best way to find out. I can tell you that for imprezas most are pretty much plug and play as long as you get the correct year(98's are the exception). But I've seen GD clusters shoehorned into GC's and so on. If you know the pinouts and are good at wiring then you can pretty much put any cluster you want.

 

It's a bad *** speedometer. as far as speedometers can be. I just don't want to order it (comin in from japan) before i know if it will work. It says its for a SF5 type. Which I think means 1st generation forester 2.5L, but I could be way off

 

yeah thats the one. And yes.. I'm sadly driving an AT. Im disconnected with my car with an AT but I drive em if yah got em.

 

So then that cluster should plug and play...
