Question replace 86 GL10 turbo 1.8 w/newer - worth it?

i have a 1986 GL10 Turbo wagon, all electric, with a bunk motor. found a good motor out of a newer car. concerned about a potential sensor/relay/ect nightmare. watta ya think? new motor has 127k, is this a worthwile project? (car was free, motor is cheap)

Car Info: 04 WRX Sedan
i would assume youre talking about using an EJ series engine. theres serious fabrication involved in getting an ej motor work with a tranny from an EA82 car.
