Here's the thread. He refers to an Impreza AT drive shaft but the wrx may be different, dunno

A wrx auto driveshaft will fit up to an R160 and the length is perfect, thats what I have right now, but it will not bolt up to an R180 unless you change the flange yoke.
The wrx driveshaft and the STi rear diff is a different 4 bolt pattern.
